As the year comes to a close, I always take time to pause, reflect, and honor the moments that shaped the past twelve months. This year was no exception. It was a year of growth, clarity, unexpected lessons, and beautiful reminders of what truly matters.

Personal Highlights

One of the most meaningful milestones for me was becoming an auntie. There is something about a baby that brings a renewed sense of purpose, joy, and hope. It shifts your worldview in the most unexpected and beautiful ways. It reminds you why you work hard, why you grow, and why you keep choosing the path of becoming.

Another major milestone was completing my first published book — which became an Amazon best seller. This was not just an accomplishment, but a deeply personal step toward the legacy I want to leave. Every day, I am laying building blocks that support my core mission: to educate and empower investors and to help others make confident, risk-smart decisions.

Inspired by Jesse Itzler’s idea of intentionally creating memories, I committed to carving out experiences throughout the year — sometimes a full day off, sometimes a mini-trip, sometimes simply exploring something new. Those moments created joy and balance, and reminded me that life is lived not only in the big milestones, but in the intentional pauses.

A major personal win was spending a month outside the US working remotely. It proved something important: that flexibility is possible. That I can live my life in a way that keeps me close to the people who matter, especially as my parents eventually reach a stage where travel becomes harder. This experience confirmed that I can stay close to family without sacrificing my professional goals. That option, that freedom, means everything to me.

Professional Reflections

On the business front, it was undeniably a turbulent year for commercial real estate — and we are far from a soft landing. But I do not want this update to be about the market (happy to discuss it offline). Instead, I want to focus on the lessons.

While I did not close a new deal this year, I do not see that as a loss. Quite the opposite. It was a practice of discipline — the discipline to say no, to tune out the noise, and to uphold my responsibility as a steward of capital for my investing partners. As Howard Marks reminds us: “The road to long-term investment success runs through risk control… not through aggressiveness.” and “Most investors’ results will be determined more by how many losers they have, and how bad they are, than by the greatness of their winners.” This year reminded me that risk management, patience, and prudence matter far more than activity for activity’s sake.

I also experienced losses — on my own dime. They were painful, yes, but invaluable. Lessons about deals, yes, but also lessons about partnerships, alignment, and long-term thinking. I am grateful those losses were mine alone and did not impact the investors who trust me.

Through it all, something beautiful emerged: my consulting and advisory practice evolved organically. It now allows me to help family offices and family businesses with strategic investment due diligence, risk management, and governance structures. Supporting them in safeguarding capital, strengthening decision-making, and building sustainable multi-generational wealth has become deeply meaningful work.

The timing may not have been “perfect,” but as Tony Robbins says, “Winter is the season that prepares us for spring.” And in the winters of life, we are given a choice:

  • to ask why this is happening for us and not to us,
  • to be the victor and not the victim,
  • to take the lessons and keep going.

Because the only way to lose is to quit — and quitting would make the struggle not worth it. Progress requires perseverance, but it also requires pivoting when something no longer aligns with our goals, values, or dreams. As Winston Churchill said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

Or, as Roosevelt reminded us in The Man in the Arena, it is the person who dares greatly, who shows up, who engages fully, who ultimately shapes their destiny.

As I look ahead, I feel grateful, grounded, and hopeful. The foundation is stronger. The lessons are clearer. The vision is sharper.

I want to thank my family, friends, clients, partners, and community — every conversation, every collaboration, and every act of support has meant the world to me.

Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful, joyful holiday season and an abundant, prosperous 2026. May you create new stories, new experiences, and new adventures that become your legacy. May the coming year bring clarity, courage, and opportunities that align with your purpose.

Dream. Believe. Achieve. Always.
